What is the NCSP?
NHS governance

Responsibility for the implementation and delivery of the programme lies with individual Primary Care Trusts (PCTs). The NCSP is delivered within geographically distinct programme areas, each consisting of individual or a consortia of individual PCTs. All programme areas have a named programme lead; a chlamydia screening co-ordinator based within a designated chlamydia screening office (CSO) and a multidisciplinary local chlamydia screening steering group (LCSSG). The CSO oversees all aspects of screening activity in their area.

Be proactive
The National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) is a control and prevention programme targeted at the highest risk group for chlamydia infection in England, young people under 25 who are sexually active.

Chlamydia is often asymptomatic so a large proportion of cases remain undiagnosed, but infection can be diagnosed easily (young people can do the test themselves), and treated effectively.
