The NCSP has developed this scorecard as a tool to enable PCTs to quickly review their performance based on a variety of indicators. The tool will allow for comparison between PCTS and SHAs.
The key indicators have been divided into three section:

PCT profiles
The NCSP Information Management team have designed a tool for PCTs to use with the help of other resources. The PCT profile tool provides a summary of select demographic variables for all PCTs and groups PCTs according to the ONS super group classification. The aim of this tool is to help PCTs identify trusts with similar demographic profiles with the view to sharing screening methods and techniques so that they can learn from each other. This will encourage greater communication and sharing of ideas between chlamydia screening offices around the country. PCTs do not need to contact everyone in their group but can start off by contacting just one or two trusts within their group. In addition PCTs can use this tool in conjunction with the NCSP scorecard which provides a more detailed summary of chlamydia testing data for each trust.

Chlamydia is often asymptomatic so a large proportion of cases remain undiagnosed, but infection can be diagnosed easily (young people can do the test themselves), and treated effectively.
